Colour palletes and some colour decisions

Hey everyone, last night the colour group met and finalized some palletes, here's what we're thinking:

We were also thinking about making each panel having a main colour (within the border) and the border color that also acts as a spot color. For example, in the music/insturment panel, the primary color is red; most of the image in the background is red and the border/spot color is a green meaning that the border and the figures are primarily greens and blues. This creates seperation from the background and will also make a cohesiveness through the amount of colours use on each panel. Here's what we're thinking:

Insturment/band panel: main colour - red and border/spot colour - green/green-blue/blues
Dance panel: main colour - golden yellow and border/spot colour - warm purples and pinks
Party/pinata panel - main colour - greens, light blue and border/spot colour - pinks, red and blues
Film panel - main colour- blue and violet hues and border/spot color- light blue/golden yellow

I hope that I explained this alright, once sarah posts our final image for the band/insturment panel you'll see what we're talking about. We think that this will make colour choices easier and more reliable since they are based on compliments. We'll be posting more examples soon.

Also, I drew up a quick figure for the film panel and I think that Vicky and ashley are working with it to revamp the film panel:

The ideas about color make perfect sense. I think those are great ideas that will help to simplify the painting process even more without sacraficing richness. Also, whats the word on the film panel?
